Cucumber update. 🥒🥒🥒
My cucumbers are starting to produce like crazy!
I have grown the Cucumber plant using the Vertical Gardening Technique, growing them up bamboo trellises using garden jute to make the netting support for them to grow up and the Tendrils which is the part of the plant that wants to climb to be able to do just that sometimes with a little help.
They are all flowering and produceing Cucumbers like crazy. 🥒🥒🥒
I put some plants out to grow, then I grew more two weeks later for a staggered harvest so the Cucumbers don't all grow and ripen at the same time.
Then you train them up a bamboo trellises or whatever trellis you have. The Cucumber plant is huge so growing 3 plant's in one large pot trellising up gives you space to grow food in a pot vertically instead of on the ground. Now I don't know about you but my garden is a very small back yard garden which used to be used to fit a couple of sunloungers in and some ornamental plants in it.
Last year I was shielding for eight and a half months so I learned how to grow food for self sufficiency. I learned a lot and had some great harvest's so I thought I would up my game this year after last year's learning experiences and use the knowledge to create a better food producing garden.
I have had many Cucumber harvest's and I have left many baby Cucumbers on the vine to grow for a longer harvest.
Tip: The more you pick the more that the Cucumber plant will produce.
Tip: help the Tendrils wrap around and up it's bamboo trellises to guide them to grow up.
